Once again I was dreaming about moving to my own house. And once again I prove that I should probably not be allowed to house hunt. >>;
In this instance, the house seemed to be on the ground floor in the middle of Glasgow City Centre. It looked like, from my view within the building, that it was somewhere near the Sauchihall pedestrians' precinct. The entranceway was more like that of a shop, the entire wall and door made of glass and making it very easy to see what was inside. In this case, it was the bathroom, which, even in the dream, I felt was a really stupid idea.
Of course somehow I still decided the house was still worth taking, lack of bathroom privacy or non...
The bathroom itself was rather spacious, with pine linoleum flooring and a really, really big bath at one side. I don't recall any other furniture in there, though. It was also very light, possibly thanks to the window/wall entrance.
Exploring a little further inside the house, I found that, despite being on the ground floor, there was a downward stairway somewhere down the back of the hallway. It was dark and kind of dingy looking, the stairs were dark grey and looking worn from years of use, and the walls were really dark green. It led to a nondescript door that had a large window above it, letting in a lot less light than a window probably should ( especially given the one in the bathroom... ).
The door was unlocked, so I opened it and peered out to the other side. It seemed to lead to a basic veranda, with blue painted railings. It was also noticeably high up, like I was standing somewhere in the middle of a high rise flat. From the colour of the sky, it seemed to be around dusk, and in the distance, little orange lights began to dot the scenery as streetlights were being switched on.
I stayed there for a while, just watching the horizon from my vantage point. I'm not sure when he appeared, but at some point, an old man decided to join me, and we had a long conversation about... well, I can't actually remember anything of it, I admit, but we seemed to be pretty involved in it, whatever it was. I also noticed around then that every so often, the building would sway a little, which was a bit disconcerting. I'm sure we probably discussed this, but, again, I don't remember.
I went back inside after a bit, up into the hallway. On the ground, beside the door leading to the bathroom, I saw the sorriest looking little dog I've ever seen. It looked like a Yorkshire terrier, but had lost most of its fur. It was curled up by the door, shivering and looking scared. I decided to pet it, and try to calm it down, which seemed to work a bit, as it stopped shaking. The old man was still there, and said that it was his dog, and I shouldn't worry as that was normal behaviour for it.
I clearly remember him saying its name was Collywobble.
The dream seemed to shift at that point, and I was in another room of the house. Now my mother was here, and we were exploring these barrels that were lined up against a wall. The room itself was very large, almost like a warehouse in size. It was also apparently night time, now.
I don't remember much about this part, past the word Collywoggle was used a few more times, and I think there was a duck involved somewhere.
The dream then changed to me being on the bus home. It was coming up to a set of lights that I usually use as a landmark to remind myself that the stop is soon. I got up and stood by the entrance, and the bus moved on, over a railway bridge. About halfway across the bridge, everything suddenly stopped, and the bus dropped silently into a pure black pit.
This segment repeated itself two or three times before the bus reached the stop and I got off, thoroughly confused about just what the heck happened.
I think I woke up not long after this part.
Thoughts and Observations
... my dream self is just not very good at this. XD
The swaying building part was actually kind of creepy, if I remember right. Just standing there, then suddenly that sensation you get when an elevator moves, only it was side to side, instead of up and down.
I wish I could remember conversations more often in dreams. Usually they lead to all sorts of interesting subjects, but once I wake up, it's generally all gone, save for a few random bits here and there. I wonder if there is a way to practice getting better at that. Hmm...
Collywobble is a funny word. XD
The bus part might have been scary if it stayed in the pit, instead of retrying a few times before finally succeeding and reaching its stop. As it was, it was merely a 'what the heck was that o_O' moment. No-one else on the vehicle seemed remotely bothered. Not even the driver. XD
Welcome
Which is to record my dreams, for the purpose of training dream recall, and just plain laughing at the stupidity that is my subconscious. :)
I also apologise in advance for any and all affronts to the English language that results from typing with a brain that woke up 5 minutes ago...

Sparkles and Twin Plane Crash
Not much I can recall from last night. I've been having a lot of trouble sleeping in general this past while, so that's why I haven't been updating. :(
Anyway;
I dreamt about finding a telescope in a concealed area of my room, that doesn't actually exist in reality, and decided to give it a test whirl that night. Apparently I knew it was going to be a full moon that night, so thought I'd see if I could get my camera to focus through the scope and get some close up image of the moon's surface.
It was then suddenly night and I was in the livingroom, pointing the telescope at the sky. The moon was out and there was no clouds to obscure its view. The moon itself had an interesting, sparkly border around it, made of what looked like little crystals.
I tried to take some photographs of it, though I can't recall now if I was successful or not. The next thing I knew was that it was morning, and I was in the kitchen helping gran get her morning cuppa, when I heard a loud rumbling sound outside. I went to investigate, peering through the windows in the livingroom, and saw two giant aeroplanes flying close enough together for their wings interlock with one another. They were also flying in a noticable downward trajectory and it became alarmingly evident that they were about to crash.
I ran back into the kitchen to try and get gran out, incase they damage the building, but I could see from the kitchen window that they had passed overhead and were about to hit the buildings across the backyards. Which still wasn't very far away.
I woke up around that part, so I don't know what happened next.
Thoughts and Observations:
Sparkles bedamned. I hate drawing them, they always look crap. XD
Anyway, I really did find a telescope in a back room a few nights ago, but it wasn't in some special area that doesn't exist ( and I can't actually remember where that area was, other than... it doesn't exist *laughs* ). I haven't tried to use it, and I certainly haven't considered sticking my camera up against it. ... well, I suppose I have, now, if this dream is anything to go by.
Brain, stop coming up with stupid ideas.
Plane crashes is an annoying theme that crops up from time to time. I've had these dreams all my life, and they're usually one brand of stupid or another. They don't often scare me, though. Usually there's this 'oh god a plane's coming aaah' bit, then I either forget about it and dream about something else, or I wake up. Of course there are the exceptions, but, yeah. Silly theme.
I wonder if I saw a movie or a news report about a plane crash as a kid and it just... stuck with me. *shrugs*

Political Griffin
Last night I dreamt about a flock of politically savvy griffins, who resided in the area around Kelvingrove art gallery & museum
The dream centered around one griffin in particular, who was trying to convince everyone that Obama wasn't a good person. He was trying to do it in a sneaky manner, slipping the occasional comment into random non-related conversations with other griffins, though most didn't take any notice, or really seem to care.
One griffin seemed incredibly disturbed by his covert hate speech, and was flailing around, declaring that nomatter what he said, they didn't reflect the feelings of the flock as a whole.
Somewhere along the line, the dream's scenery changed to look more 16-bit. The griffins became random, basic looking sprites in a dark city, that sort of looked like the first level in Streets of Rage. They were hunting for something, but I was awoken by my alarm before the dream could progress any further.
Thoughts and Observations:
... I really, really don't care for politics. I have no idea why I was dreaming about political griffins or why one of them hated Obama quite so much. XD
No, I don't hate or like him. I don't have an opinion of him one way or the other.
I'm not sure how I knew whether the griffins were male or female. I don't even remember what they look like, now. Weird Dream Stuff, I guess?
And yes, that's an old photograph I took around a year or so ago. It was just handy to show what the place looked like! XD
This place.

From the Notepad: #3
I haven't been ignoring this blog again. I just haven't been recalling any dreams, lately. So I think it's time to delve into my old notepad again. :)

From 24th March, 2009.
I dreamt that I was staying at an aunt's, much like I did when I was a child. There was nothing particularly unusual that ocurred to me about the room I was in; it looked very much like it did when I was actually staying there: beige wallpaper, deep blue carpet, pine wardrobe in the corner; that sort of thing. My aunt, herself, was there, and handed me a strange looking hand-held gaming system.
It looked something like a glorified USB stick, with a screen, buttons and a little D-pad where the metal part would be. Though it was roughly the size of a Sega Game Gear.
Here's a little scribble of it, based on the one in my notes:
It had a lot of games built in. Most of them were things like Tetris, or assorted RPGs. Whilst cycling through the options, I found some sort of puzzle version of Wipeout. Rather than the usual, behind the vehicle angle, the game had a top-down view, and race courses were actually maps of various places, like the UK, Italy, Greenland.. things like that. They were kind of like big empty rooms, the distinct shape of the country was like the boundary of the gaming map. Gameplay involved racing around these maps at high speed, hunting for certain items and avoiding collisions with other vehicles.
It was very hard to control, your vehicle would constantly slide around as if on ice. After about 4 levels of this, it upped the difficulty by starting to throw more dangerous objects to avoid, like missiles and mines that would appear at random.
The dream eventually changed perspective, and I was now wandering through a very dark, woodland area. Strewn amongst the trees were old arcade cabinets in various states of decay. Though even at that, others were still functional, with screens lit up. There was also a bubbling swamp with skeletons in it for some reason or other.
I quickly realised I wasn't alone in this area, there were other people milling around that I don't know in real life. They were having a sort of gaming party. One of them came up to me and said I should play "Drawing on the DDR Machine".
Said machine was sitting amongst a hilly clearing in the wood, where the dark sky could be seen. It was a deep, deep purple, with a few stars twinkling. The landscape itself was pretty much a black silhouette, so I'm not entirely sure what most of it looked like. On the screen of the arcade cabinet was what looked like the Mii creation from the Wii console. The difference being that there were no face parts, just a blank oval that you were expected to draw a face on, yourself.
Apparently I managed to make lots of mistakes whilst attempting this task, and whenever I did, I was doing that "ctrl+Z" thing that us digital artists tend to do almost on auto pilot, haha. Of course, every time I tried, I realised that there was no keyboard present on the cabinet, and had to press a non-descript button instead.
The dream then changed to me being back in my aunt's room, and I was arguing with a friend over Halo. Apparently I was vehement that it was a terrible game, and he kept retaliating by saying I was taking "shotties".
I woke up after that.
Thoughts and Observations:
A very video gamey dream! ... A very... silly... video gamey dream. :D
I must have been playing them a lot around then, I guess.
I'm sure that strange handheld probably IS a dream-mangled version of my Game Gear. I used to play it all the time at my aunt's, until a cousin broke it, anyway. Fond memories.
I really don't hate Halo quite that much. Sure, I don't think it's the best example of an FPS, but I wouldn't call it an insult to gaming quite like I was in this dream! *laughs* Personally, I prefer Borderlands. :D
Hmm. I guess I don't have much to say, past this was quite entertaining to read over as I was typing. And hurrah for the random scribble in my notes. I should do that more often; it might make things a bit easier to understand when I'm typing stuff up. It would be better than me trying to describe something ridiculous, when my brain is still half asleep and the word 'sandwich' is too big for it. XD

More Castles, Other Stuff, Too
I dreamt about going to a shop in some beach-side town. I think it was some sort of dream-warped mix of Blackpool and the isle of Arran. It was night time, again. There was something about a ladies' toilet that sat next to the beach. I remember it being a rectangular, grey, pretty boring building to look at. There were people milling around just outside of it, speaking about a new craze called Toilet in a Can.
Yes, it pretty much was what you're likely thinking.
It even boasted 'sound proofed material to disguise any unfortunate sounds'.
Thankfully I wasn't interested in acquiring or using such a silly product, but I was, as stated at the beginning, heading to a shop with purchasing in mind.
There were a row of buildings just opposite of the beach, with an empty road seperating the two. They seemed to be two-story buildings, with outdoor stairways leading to the upper floors. Shops always seemed to be on the second floor, so I had to climb up and head on in. The inside of the shop seemed to be uphill, everything was sloping upward from where I entered. It was notably dark inside, too. Lights were on, but the floor was painted black, and the shelves had lots of dark coloured items strewn about them. They were also very close together, so moving was a bit of a squeeze.
I got to the counter of the building, and apparently I was wanting to buy some Magic: The Gathering cards. But instead ended up with some small packets of stickers. I knew this was the wrong item, but I felt unwilling to challenge the shopkeeper about it, and just went on my way, opening the packet. The stickers contained simple line art of creatures and buildings.
I don't recall any specific details about them past that, however. When I left the shop, the location had completely changed. I was now just leaving the main gates of a huge castle, that was made of brickwork that looked like it had been scorched in a fire recently. Very blackened. Apparently I was part of some kind of team who were scouting the local area for signs of impending disasters, though I don't remember anything about the other people who were part of it.
The castle seemed to be bang smack right in the middle of an old town, with cobbled streets and Victorian styled buildings. It seemed to be entirely downhill, too. I remember a lot of roof jumping and scouting the place from the air, but the exact details are lost to me, now. I mainly remember that there was a huge storm heading castle-ward and it was going to bring a large flood with it.
Almost right on cue, there was a wall of water rushing up the hill toward the castle. There was no way to stop it, and it completely flooded the lower floors of the building. Though just as quickly as it had appeared, the water receded, leaving behind a large pile of mud or silt, that people would start digging through to look for treasure.
The dream then became very abstract and involved riding around a neon city on a suspended roller coaster, trying to grab rectangular lights along the way, like it was a sort of video game challenge.
I woke up to my alarm shortly after that.
Thoughts and Observations:
Oh look, another castle. I'm not normally someone who believes in the whole 'hidden meanings' thing with dreams, but sometimes, when I get recurring themes like this, it does make me wonder a little. Only a little, though. Most of it is just me going 'come on, brain, come up with something new'. *laughs*
Toilet In a Can!™
Yet another of my brain's idiotic inventions that hopefully will never see the light of day. Seriously. If you're one of the two or three people who read this blog, do me a favour and never patent this idea. XD
Unless it's already been invented. D:

Helter Skelter of Blood
Last night I dreamt about a man trying to escape the ravages of sea. It was night time, and everything looked mostly black and difficult to make out. He was struggling amidst highly choppy water, when he came across a large chain that was apparently being held by another man, who looked older and had a huge, wirey beard.
He grabbed onto the chain, which began to move backwards toward another piece of chain that was somewhere in the distance. There was a lot of shouting between the two men. I don't think they were angry, just trying to hear each other over the sound of the water, though personally I don't remember hearing any watery sounds.
The closer it got to the other chain, the clearer it appeared to be being wound around a spire or something. The older man was, for whatever reason, unable to get away from the impending doom of being wound up with the chain, and got rather graphically crushed. Blood everywhere.
He seemed to still be alive, though, and told the other man he had to slide down to escape.
Apparently the sea had become a helter skelter, who's chute had a river of blood running all the way down it. The man had no choice but to slide down. For some reason, the chains were now trying to hit him as he slid down, slamming into the ride, but he managed to avoid them. He saw the other man again someway down and grabbed onto his leg, to try and get him out of the chain. All that really happened was that he snapped the leg off and continued with his descent.
I woke up there to the sound of my mobile phone demanding battery assistance. *laughs*
Thoughts and Observations:
Well. It seems my brain was in a gory mood for whatever reasons last night. Although the mental image of a guy sliding down a helter skelter of death with a severed leg in his hand is oddly amusing in its own, creepy way. XD
I'll be filing this under nightmare. As silly as it all was, it was mildly disturbing at the time.

Wolf and Face
I dreamt about watching a wolf battling against a giant faced monster in my street. I don't remember many of the details about what either looked like, past the giant faced monster was green, with thick lips and a big nose. It was night time, and the tarmac of the road was glistening wet. Though it wasn't raining at this particular moment.
The wolf and the monster were circling each other, occasionally making false charges, perhaps to try and startle the other. They also seemed to be shouting at one other, but I can't remember anything that was said between them.
Suddenly the wolf ran off, and into the park that sits across from me. It's pitch black in there, not even streetlights seemed to be able to show what was there. The monster was still shouting at this point, but the wolf was ignoring it, instead coming back into view after a while with long streams of little multi-coloured lights in its mouth. It started climbing trees and placing the lights along branches, making everything in the park more visible. It looked kind of Christmassy.
I woke up to the sound of the door being knocked around then.
Thoughts and Observations:
Do I have Christmas on the brain or something? o_O
The wolf kind of makes me think of Okami. Don't recall if it was white or not, though. *laughs*

*laughs*

Short
I don't remember much about last night's dreams. Only that I was sitting in the livingroom, and discussing with a couple of random dream characters about downloading an old version of my dream journal.
There was something about comparing street names, too.
Huh.

Giant Jaw, Mirror House & Leg Locker Technology
Despite only getting a short sleep due to the weather, it seems my brain was rife with strange and stupid ideas last night!
---
I dreamt that my lower jaw bone had ballooned in size, and had grown large, pointed teeth. Looking in the bathroom mirror, it looked like the typical jaw you would see on an ogre or something, only with lots of bone showing instead of big fat lips. It was like the skin had just broken to allow the bones to grow freely.
The sensation was that it had gotten very heavy, and sort of loose. Like I could just shake my head and it would swing freely. I remember being worried about stabbing the roof of my mouth every time I tried to chew or merely talk.
At some point I was lying in my bed, pretending to be asleep. My upper jaw and nose had now joined the lower in growing out of the skin and was sort of looking like my face was becoming a fox skull or something. My breathing at that point sounded like a snarl or snore, even though I wasn't intending it so. I forget why, in the dream, I was pretending to sleep.
I think I briefly woke up for real around this point, but quickly fell back asleep. The dream scenario, now, was some kind of large house or castle, who's walls were entirely made of a reflective, mirror like substance. There was no ceiling, the sky was blue, and letting lots of sunlight in. The ground, I recall, was a bright, sandy colour. I was there with a friend, and we were trying to get through the building as if it were a sort of puzzle level in a video game.
The puzzle we were looking at at this time, was of an upward sloping hill, where large blocks would randomly slide down and try to knock you back down to the bottom again. Apparently we had been trying and failing to scale this slope for some time, as my friend seemed quite frustrated by it.
We tried again, bolting for the top of the slope, and as predicted, the blocks started sliding down where we were. We got knocked back down, but just tried again and again. Eventually I noticed these dark blue lines along the ground, and, on a hunch, ran along one. The blocks wouldn't slide down an area with the blue line, so I scaled to the top and told my friend how to get there, too.
On the other side of the slope, there was a sheer drop, and a platform way in the distance with no obvious way to cross to it. My friend quickly figured it out, however, and pointed out that there were platforms that we could jump to. But the catch was that they only appeared in the reflections on the walls, so we had to judge from that where they were.
It didn't take long before we misjudged and fell down the pit. Instead of doom, though, it seemed to lead to an under water library made up of lots of connected, small rooms. There were, as expected, lots of shelves lining the walls. In the gaps where there weren't any, there were drawings stapled to the wall, that looked like they were drawn by very young children. They seemed mostly military related, with tanks and bomber aircrafts being prominant. There were also giant bottles of Irn Bru floating around... Uhh...
We swam through the library, my friend taking it upon himself to topple every set of shelves he came across, both because it was 'his duty', and because we were apparently now looking for square cloths hidden behind them that were white with a red criss-cross pattern on them. I think we found one, before the dream drastically changed.
Now I was watching some sort of news documentary about a new technology to slow down criminals escaping from a crime. Apparently police were now equipped with a sort of stun gun that caused people's legs to lock up, preventing them from running. There was a demonstration on the screen, of a man stealing a woman's bag and trying to escape, only for his legs to lock with a 'crick' sound, and him to fall over and be apprehended. I remember the man was black, and someone off screen called the show racist.
There was supposedly going to be a large debate after the show about the ethical implications of such technology, but I had lost interest in the television and was talking to family about the dreams I had just had, describing the mirror house and the bizarre giant jaw problem.
I woke up for real shortly after this...
Thoughts and Observations:
The giant jaw was entirely strange, and somewhat disconcerting. Oddly I wasn't very scared during the ordeal, just... kind of weirded out by it...
Another giant building! Not as interesting as the last, and I have to admit, it kind of reminds me of Rayman 3. Apart from the Irn Bru, of course. I have no explanations for that... XD
Leg Locker Technology™. I have no idea how that would even work, never mind how feasible it would be. I'm not sure where my brain was going with that one...
Describing dreams within a dream is something that has happened a few times, recently, actually. It's... kind of annoying. My brain should at least wait until I'm awake before going through the 'how did my dream go, again...' rigmarole. XD

New House & The Castle
Goodness, I haven't updated this in a long time. I really should get back into the habit!
It has been quite a few hours now since I awoke, but I'll put down what I can remember from last night's dream...
---
I was looking for a new house, and was wandering around a part of the city center of Glasgow with my mother. It was near Scotland Street School, though some of the details were out of place: there were a lot more motorway fly-overs than what there are in real life, and the school itself had ballooned into an absolutely huge, black castle, though still retained much of Rennie Mackintosh's influences in design. Also, the area where the car park should be across the road from the school was a huge large yard.
As fate would have it, that was also where my new house was. Right on top of one of the piles.
I'm not sure how I got up to it, but I was suddenly viewing the inside of the house. It was rectangular, and not very big. There were no rooms inside, though the ground had a red carpet stretching from corner to corner. I can't remember if there were any windows or not. The person who was showing me the house told be I would have to build the walls myself to separate it into rooms.
Against all better judgement, I decided to accept the house, and set about furnishing it.
Suddenly the house now has a distinct livingroom. with some arm chairs and a fireplace at the far end. There are still no rooms, though. I guess I was planning on doing that later?
I start getting a bit worried about how I'm going to pay the rent for this house, as well as a niggling feeling that I'm putting too much things at one end. No sooner had that worry been planted in my mind than the house jerked, and began sliding down the pile of junk and out onto the road. I got an outside view of the building as this happened, and, for what ever reasons, the house had a large tarp thrown over it, that was flailing around as it slid down and out of the junkyard.
The dream then changed to me wandering alongside the school/castle and talking to someone. I'm not sure who it was, but my mind interpreted it to be a person who I know on the internet. The street by this point had drastically changed, too. The road was about one lane wide, and across from us was, instead of the junkyard, another tall part of the castle. It grew into an arc high in the air, which bent toward a central building somewhere ahead of us, giving the it a sort of spidery look. There were black, Victorian stylized railings lining the parts along the ground, keeping us from getting close enough to the castle walls to touch it.
I wasn't entirely bothered by the presence of the huge building at this time, more worried about the rent for my now-escaping-down-the-road-in-the-opposite-direction house. I had absolutely no way to pay it, but my internet friend said not to worry, and that we should just go shopping instead to take my mind off it. Seeing no alternative, I agreed.
We'd apparently walked toward the center part of the large castle, now. It was situated in a large public square, with people milling about. The edges of the square were lined with a fortress-like wall, though there were various openings that people could go through to come and go as they pleased. I noticed around this point that the ground was covered in snow, and it suddenly felt that it was near Christmas. I went to mention this to my internet friend, but they had wandered off without telling me, and I was left to try and figure out where they could have gone.
I decided to go through one of the openings at the edge of the square, which I quickly regretted, as the other side was a small platform with a sheer drop. I managed to stop myself from slipping and falling down by grabbing onto the wall. Looking out, I could see a 'lower level' to the city, with streets lined with decorations and a large Christmas tree somewhere in the distance. It was snowing, and looked very picturesque. Though I was more concerned with not falling to my doom to really enjoy it, heh.
The dream then changed completely, and I was viewing a 'rebirth' of the old Fleetway Sonic the Comic. It apparently centered around a story with the characters meeting the Nameless Zone foxes. Morain and Errol Blackthorn were there, as well as some other fox with a giant, spherical nose. Apparently nobody liked the character, but he was kept because the author liked him.
For whatever reason, characters randomly died then came back to life. Each time they were vanquished, they would turn into brown M&Ms. The last one to suffer this fate in the "issue" was Tails, ending on a 'to be continued'. The next story was supposedly going to center on memories of Sonic the Hedgehog's early days with Tails ( which mostly involved Sonic bragging about how many times he had relieved himself outside and not gotten caught *laughs* ).
I woke up around there.
---
Thoughts and Observations:
Though I haven't been updating this blog for a while ( I am ashamed, don't you worry! ), one theme that has been resurfacing time and again lately has been impossibly tall castles. I'm not sure where it stemmed from, really. I quite like it, though. Masonry fascinates me, and I guess my imagination finally got the memo about it. :D
I have been considering relocating to my own house quite a lot the past few months. Let's hope that, if it does happen, it doesn't do so quite like this dream. I'll be sure to steer clear of junkyards. XD
... yeah, I don't really have anything to say about that last part except WTF. XD

Giant Robot
Short entry, today.
---
I dreamt that I had come into possession of a miscellaneous giant robot. The only way to enter said robot was to stand inside a room in its foot and command it to teleport you to the cockpit. However, I quickly realised there was a problem, as nothing I said would work. Eventually, I decided to just ask the robot what I was doing wrong.
It replied that I had to speak all of my commands in Ye Olde Englishe, which I felt was rather silly, but complied, anyway. Apparently adding 'eth' at the end of random words was good enough for it, at least. *laughs*
I decided, before doing anything else, I had to assemble a group of 'co pilots' to help control the robot, so I went into town to find random people. I don't remember too much about this part, past the people I chose had to make their way back to the robot via an assault course.
Eventually they reached it, and we all teleported into the cockpit, at which point I had managed to completely forget why I wanted these people here in the first place. *laughs*
I woke up around there.

Broken Cooker of the Apocalypse
Last night's dream was probably the silliest 'end of the world' dream I've had. XD
Unfortunately I'm rather strapped for time right now, so I'm going to have to just bulletpoint the highlights and hope to edit in a more descriptive recollection of the events later on if I can.
---
Yes... this was a pretty stupid dream... XD
Unfortunately I'm rather strapped for time right now, so I'm going to have to just bulletpoint the highlights and hope to edit in a more descriptive recollection of the events later on if I can.
---
- Old cooker finally gives up its grip on life, with a rumble and a sigh.
- House has had its rooms rearranged, kitchen leads directly into livingroom, where some repairmen wait
- Given a tablet device which flashes up pipes I need to collect from an underground cavern, much like a video game
- Emerge infront of park, which has installed laserbeam defence technology and I get singed with a nice criss-cross pattern across my flesh from it. Cheers.
- David Tennant is a cooker repairman all of a sudden o_O
- He takes me outside and points to the stars, saying there is a celestial phenominon about to take place.
- Lots of little X's dot the sky between the stars, which eventually meld together to look like a display seen on the old Teletext service.
- METEOR STRIKES. EVERYWHERE.
- Can shoot down meteors with use of cooker pipes.
- Meteors turn into trees, which are alien cars in disguise. o_O;
- Alien cars claim to be invading Earth to destroy humanity, because every time we eat, a part of the planet disappears, and we should eat via solar panels instead.
Yes... this was a pretty stupid dream... XD

Spiderbite
Last night, I dreamt that I was standing in a car park, waiting for a friend to meet with me. There was a no-entry sign near by, and I reached over to lean on it, when I felt a sharp pinch in the skin between my index & middle finger. Pulling my hand back, I see a small spider with very long legs fall to the ground.
My friend then shows up and steps on it, then blames me for the spider's demise. I'm looking at the bite mark at this time, noticing that it has turned into a small blister, that doesn't exactly hurt, but feels strange all the same.
We wander through the car park, to this stairway somewhere near the middle, that leads down to an aquarium of some sort. As we descend, I look at my hand again, and notice that the area I was bitten has really swollen up, now, and is completely white. Strangely, I didn't feel the slightest bit bothered by this, and continued on into the aquarium place.
The room we entered was circular in shape, and had black walls, with segments cut away where we could see the tanks and the creatures inside it. There was a white bench in the middle of the room, where we sat down to observe the fish. At some point I decide to look at my hand again, and realise the swelling has gone, though the little blister at the end is still there.
I woke up after that.
Thoughts & Observations:
I do believe this has been brought on by all the spider monsters I and my friend have been fighting in various video games, recently. XD

Black Smoke
It has been quite a while since I've found myself able to sit down and write an update. Apologies for that!
---
Last night, I dreamt that I had just left the shops that reside at a main road, near where I live. It was night time, and I was waiting at the traffic lights to cross the road.
As I was watching traffic going past, I began to notice a black smoke was coming in from somewhere to the left. It was swirling around, and inky to look at. It had the look of black paint streaming off of a brush in water. It didn't feel scary or threating in any way, despite the ominous appearance it had. I was quite content to watch it slowly consume the entirety of the street to my left, as it didn't seem to be causing any harm past making the area impossible to see.
The traffic lights changed, and I started to cross the road. There was a woman crossing from the other side, and she glared at me as we passed one another. I wondered why she seemed so angry at me, then noticed her gaze lower to my hands. Looking down, I saw that I had the black smoke billowing from my palms.
Rather than be scared of it, I was more fascinated, and waved my hands in the air, watching it make swirls. I slowly began to realise that this couldn't possibly be happening in reality, and became lucid. I walked along the other side of the street, past a stairway leading down to a train station, playing with the smoke and drawing patterns in the air with it, when it suddenly stopped flowing. I figured maybe it just ran out at last, and continued walking, feeling I wanted to explore the dream a little more rather than puzzle over that.
I came to the bus stop that resides in front of the local park, and saw a group of people standing, presumably waiting on a bus. One of them was a little girl, wearing a fluffy and soft looking bathrobe. I remember it being mostly white, with pastel blue and pink highlights. She seemed unhappy with her garb, that she didn't like one of the colours. So, I told her that she could change them if she wanted, because this was a dream and she was a dream character within it.
As I said that, the pink on her sleeves slowly became blue, which cheered her up a bit. Though there were some other fragments of pink elsewhere on her outfit, that she said she couldn't change. I was about to reply to her, when she pointed out something from the area I'd just come from. Looking back, I saw that the smoke had dispersed, and in it's place was an absolute horde of white Hackney taxis!
Though, before anything else could happen, the location suddenly changed, and I was in the park. I was sitting on a bench, looking over at the area where a large fountain sits. Though for some strange reason, the fountain, and everything for about a 20ft radius around it, looked like a photograph that had been bleached in the sun. Everything was white, pale blue, and pink. I thought to myself that it was just like the colours on the little girl's robe, before getting up to explore the area.
The bleached grass was crunchy underfoot, like it was frosty from a cold winter night. Everything kind of felt cold, actually. The sky was entirely white, making the area feel incredibly bright. I made it about half way to the fountain, before I woke up. :(
---
Thoughts & Observations:
...It's amusing how much you can write about a dream, then realise you've just put down several paragraphs about how you crossed a road and walked to a bus stop... Uh... XD
Another lucid dream. I can't decide if I'm getting better or not at them. *laughs*

Thoughts & Observations:
...It's amusing how much you can write about a dream, then realise you've just put down several paragraphs about how you crossed a road and walked to a bus stop... Uh... XD
Another lucid dream. I can't decide if I'm getting better or not at them. *laughs*

Organ Sucking Goo
Last night, I dreamt about heading to the windowsill in the livingroom, to water my gran's houseplants. In one of the pots, I noticed that there was a strange, flesh-coloured stalk poking out of the soil. I added some water, thinking that perhaps she'd just bought a new plant.
I turned to tend to the other plants, when suddenly an empty pot had what looked like a miniature tree trunk bursting from it, only it seemed to be made of a slime-like substance, and was wiggling around. I went to back away from it, when the 'new plant' also does the same. The two stalks of slime then leapt from the pots and joined together, making some sort of bubbling, squirming goo worm. It then leapt at my stomach and latched on like a leech, trying to suck out my insides, which made my stomach and legs get a strange, numbness-like feeling throughout. Kind of like that feeling you get after your leg goes to sleep and you try to get the circulation running again.
I managed to somehow pull it off before it could do any real damage, and trapped it inside a pair of clear, plastic cups, where it turned black and fought to pry my hands apart and attack me again. I ran into another room with it still held, and asked for some help. For some reason that the dream never explained, my gran was too busy phoning the authors of Time magazine to offer suggestions.
The dream then changed to me 'waking up' and the goo leech was again latching onto my stomach and trying to devour my insides.
I woke up for real, at that point.

Thoughts & Observations:
Woo, my first nightmare of the year. It quite creeped me out when I first woke up; but like most nightmares, I look back on it after a little while, and have a laugh at how silly they tend to be. Ironically the first thing I did when I awoke was make sure I'd watered the plants. *laughing*
I always get that weird feeling in dreams when some monster or other decides to have a nibble at my limbs/stomach. I wonder if I was just lying awkwardly and it was seeping into my subconscious like that. Sorta like a mental 'oi, shift ya lazy bugger', only spoken through the angry teeth of a marauding nasty, hahaha.
I have no idea what Time magazine had to do with anything. I've never even read a single issue. XD

Snow and Race
In last night's dream, I remember walking into the local park. There was snow everywhere, and there was a slight mist hanging around. I walked into the open area where a big fountain sits, and as I did, the sky took a pinkish hue, bathing everything in a pale pink light. I remarked in the dream that this must be like a sunrise that a friend described once. No sooner had I done that, when the sky then turned purple, everything around me also taking a pale purple hue.
I thought it was rather pretty and went to sit on a bench, to enjoy the nice scenery. For whatever convenient reasons, the benches had no snow on them.
Then the dream changed completely, and now I was in some car race, looking for something called a 'Milakabu'. The race was through a dark city, which had cobbled roads, and buildings with very pointy roofing. For some reason I felt like I was looking at everything through a fish eye lens.
There were lots of people taking part in this race, which, if I'm being honest, felt like some sort of dream-warped version of Wacky Races. *laughs*
Every car in the race was black, with different coloured rear lights to differentiate one racer from another. Everyone had their own special power, like being able to go extra fast for a time, or flying over certain building types. The car I was in could pass through a certain number of concrete walls before becoming solid again.
The race itself was very haphazard, and I don't really remember too much about it because I kept waking up and then falling asleep again, back into the stupid race. *laughs* I remember going over a bridge, and some car beside mine having a net fly out of its passenger-side window. Or several cars nosediving into a shop window after going over a speedramp and soaring into the air. There was something about driving along an emptied canal, as well.
The 'Milakabu' was never explained.

Thoughts & Observations:
I wish I could remember more about this dream. I feel like there's some big detail that I'm forgetting.
'Milakabu' is a silly sounding name.

Another Planet
Last night I had quite a time trying to get to sleep. It was just so cold that I couldn't warm up, and when I finally did get to sleep, I was waking up every hour or so with the only thing I remembered each time from my dreams being wasps. *laughs* I think it must have been about 4 or 5am before I finally managed to settle down properly.
Expect worse than usual levels of coherency, I've only been up about 10 minutes. XD
---
I recall being part of a group who were moving to an alien planet to live. There wasn't a huge fanfare about it, it seemed like it was about as normal as moving from one city to another. I don't recall being told the name of the planet, just that it always had blue skies and sunshine.
I was, at the time, in the launch area for a 'passenger rocket' that would take us to our location. It looked kind of like a space shuttle, with a lot more windows down it, and no 'fins' at the sides. There was a fair amount of bustle around the area as people prepared to board, via a gangplank that extended from somewhere near the top of the vehicle. There was no luggage anywhere, I just assumed that it was already on board. There was also no noise, despite the location and crowd of people moving to and fro.
The dream then transitioned to being on the vehicle as it traveled to its destination. The inside looked similar to an aeroplane, but more spacious. The windows at the sides were large, like regular house windows, instead of the tiny, oval plane ones. Like before, it was very quiet. There was no engine sound or chatter. It was kind of eerie.
Next, we were on the alien planet. Like I was told, the sky was a brilliant blue, and it was sunny and bright. The area that I was walking down was a quiet street, that had white buildings with a sort of Asian design about them, particularly the roofing. There were little stalls selling trinkets and fruit dotted around, but at this time I was more interested in finding where I was supposed to be living. One of the people in the group then pointed out one of the buildings on the street, and we headed inside.
The inside was one large, rectangular room. There was windows lining one wall, which, through the curtains, I could see the clear sky, and the roof of the building next door. The walls themselves in the room were painted a pale shade of blue, though the floor was just floorboards.
One of the people in the group began talking about splicing creatures together, which was some sort of hobby in this world. They then pulled out from their pocket a tiny, plastic red hippo, and a green animal of undetermined species. All I can recall from it was that it had four legs. They then smushed the models together, and it created a small series of pops and smoke. The result of their 'splice' was a lump of Tigers Eye and a bipedal cartoon animal, who I think was a dog.
They gave me the Tigers Eye, and then the dream transitioned to me sitting next to a park fence, looking at it. Turning it over in my hands, I noticed the gem having a sort of tartan pattern to its sheen. Whilst I was observing this, a little old lady came up and sat beside me to watch. She commented on the gem, saying that it was quite a rare specimen of the substance, and that she would love it if I could give her a slice of it. I decided to do just that, when I 'woke up'.
Only I didn't, really. I found myself on the floor of the house I'd apparently moved into. Realising this, I quickly figured out that I was still in my dream, and got up out of my floor-bed ( I suppose it was a futon, but I don't recall anything other than having a sheet ). I decided to head to the windows of the room and look outside. I became rather disappointed when I realised that the blue sky and roofs of the building was all that was out there. Much like the edge of scenery in a computer game, the buildings just 'cut off' when out of the expected line of sight.
I tried closing my eyes a few times, to try and see if the scenery would change to something maybe a little less boring, and at one point it seemed to become some people playing in the sea, though the cut off roof was still floating there. I decided to give up with that and headed outside.
I went down to one of the vendors of the stalls, to see what they had for sale. He was mainly selling bananas of varying degrees of rottenness, some of which looked like they'd been squashed. I decided, though, just to see how things went, to try and buy some less gross looking ones. He asked me for "55" for the spoiled fruit, and I looked in a wallet I had for the money. I had a whole lot of 5 pence piece coins, but that wasn't what he was after. He sifted through a pocket, lifting a coin of his own to show what the currency of the world was like. Apparently it was little white discs with a black dot in the middle, of which I had none of.
The vendor himself looked like an overweight man in a tank top and jeans, with short black hair and a goatee. He had tanned skin, though his arms and fingers had suction cups all along them.
I woke up for real after that.
---
Thoughts & observations:
Well... that was... interesting? I don't really have much to say on this dream.
Probably the most disappointing lucid experience I've had. XD
Blue room with floorboards again. Hmmm.
Next time I visit an alien planet, I must remember to stop by the bureau de change. *nod nod*

Big Buildings
Another night of scant recollection. All I can really remember is that there were large, greyscale, Victorian style buildings, and that they were, according to some random dream characters, very scary. I wasn't scared of them, myself, though.
I also apparently had a false awakening where I awoke in the dark, and tried to check my mobile phone to see what time it was. But I couldn't for the life of me make out what was on the screen when I lit it up. I only now realise that I didn't have my phone resting beside my bed through the night, but instead across the room where my computer is. So instead of me just being too tired to see straight, that little episode was entirely dreamt. *laughs*
Here's hoping for better recollection tomorrow night.

Pond Dump
Unlike the night before, the only details I can remember from last nights' dream was that someone had dumped a giant PlayStation 3 in a duckpond, and that I was heading off to get my camera to take a photograph of it, as proof that I wasn't making it up ( to whom, I have no idea ).
I remember it had green pondweed growing over it, so it had been sitting there for a while.
Though instead of the local park where the pond usually sits, it was right in the middle of some posh district, with very expensive looking houses. People who lived there all wore sunglasses and sunhats for some reason.
Odd dream.

Psycho Ex
Last night, my dream centered on a random dream character rather than myself. It was kind of like watching a film. *laughs*
---
The character was a middle-aged man, who was traveling by taxi into town to meet up with his partner for some after-work shopping. However, whilst watching the meter ticking away as he traveled, he realised he didn't have enough money to pay the fare the whole way, so he asked the driver to let him off early, so he could walk the rest of the way. The taxi pulled up in this little suburban-looking street and let him off. I recall the fare being exactly £19.00.
After he payed the fare, he began walking along the street, which had a slight curve to it, and was going uphill. Houses were all white in colour, and had little front gardens separated from the pavement by hedges and a gate. It was raining, and everything had a sort of dusky dull look about it, though it wasn't quite dark enough for the street lights to come on. Some houses had lights on as he passed, others were still dark. As he walked, the front door of one of the houses on his side of the road flew open and this woman who had dark clothes and brown, thick, wavy hair appeared, and called him over.
He tried to ignore the woman, as apparently she was his ex partner from a previous relationship, but she ran out to grab hold of him, and drag him back to her house. Apparently she was having some kind of drunken party going on, and since he was here, he could join in. He tried again to escape, but she managed to convince him that since nothing would happen, he wouldn't get in trouble.
The inside of the house seems to have Christmas decorations up, and there's some lights dancing along a wall, like they're off of a discoball or something, there's loud, incomprehensible music playing too. I'm not sure how much time was meant to have passed, but the guy decides to make his escape attempt once again, and runs down the path back into the street. The woman takes this as a massive insult, and starts chasing after him, screaming how she's going to tear off his skin.
He runs back down the street he'd come up, with her chasing behind, screaming the whole time, that human skin turns into a jelly like substance when it's all peeled off, and that she'd use it to make various household items. The guy, clearly freaked out by this, runs into a random house's garden and cuts through to the back of the building, through some kid's play area that was there, and onto this other road, that seemed to be winding through the country.
There were lots of trees on the left side of the road, like it was cutting through a forest. On the right, there were also some trees, but they weren't as compact, and a few feet beyond them was the edge of a lake. It was really dark at this point, and the guy started calling out for a taxi, in the hopes of one perhaps passing by. He looked back to see the crazy woman was still chasing him, so he tried to run faster.
He comes across a single house along the side of the road, and there's a guy tending to his truck, which had lots of pine trees loaded onto it. He asks what the man was doing running along the road, shouting, and when he got an explanation, told him to hide amongst the trees in the back, which he did. Then the truck pulled out and drove off.
The location changed to another street, this time with some nondescript, multi-story buildings, which was apparently where the man lived. He ran into one of the buildings and told his family that they were moving house immediately, so his ex couldn't find them and do them any harm. But he only moved to a location a few buildings down the street, and on the bottom floor at that. The move was pretty instantaneous, the 'new house' completely furnished already.
He was now with his partner in the livingroom, watching television, when he suddenly sees his ex walking past outside, and tells everyone to hide. He then heads to the front door of the house and tries to hold it shut when she starts banging on it. There's a sudden silence, and he realises she's went round to try and get in through the garden door in the livingroom, but as he gets there to stop her, some armed people appear at the garden and start electrocuting the woman with tasers till she's completely unconscious or dead.
At that point one of the people came over and said they would like to make a film out of this turn of events, and the man's family agreed to it. The dream then changed and the couple were watching the TV again. Apparently now the film they were talking about was being broadcast. The woman seemed to be scared of what was going on, and was trying to hide behind her partner, who simply asked why she was looking to him for protection when that wimp on the screen was meant to be him.
Then he suddenly seems to spot something in the film, which had him run to a phone and start dialing a number and then speak in a foreign language, all the while typing something with the numberpad. The last thing I see in the dream is a picture of Norway, and the number 6153.
---
Thoughts & observations:
This would make the worst film ever.
So the whole while my dream was trying to give this 'horror' or 'fear' vibe, but when I woke up I didn't feel scared or bothered by it, more amused than anything. I think by the end of the dream it had given up trying to scare me and just got really pretty silly. XD
I think the number at the end was how many 'characters' he had typed into the phone. Hell of a big text message if that was the case. *laughs*
...
Though I guess this means my subconscious is a horror B-movie director. This fills me with greater dread than anything the dream could have hoped for. XD

NiGHTS stuff & Weirdness
I would have thought I'd dream about Hogmanay or something, but I dreamt about some old video game, instead. XD

Last night I dreamt about "extended" versions of the introduction sequences from NiGHTS into dreams. The two I remember most was Claris' sequence, and a strange '3rd Character' one. The 3rd character was apparently a boy who had dreams of going into science, and lived in a white-paneled, wooden bungalow. He had a reasonable-sized back yard, surrounded by railings, where he would build little rockets to send into the air.
During the sequence, the smoky nightmare creatures from the series' intros burst from a rocket's exhaust and chased him into his house, which had a bright light inside it. That was where the sequence ended.
Claris' sequence was similar to how it is in the video game ( which can be found around the 1:21 mark here ), though instead of the light at the end, it was an open doorway that led into some dark area. Though she didn't run far in, more huddled down near the entrance, and watched the smoky creatures milling around, making a lot of noise as they did so. Then suddenly she got this 'I'm going to kick your rear' expression and ran back out to attack them. I recall she had one in a headlock before the dream transitioned into a false-awakening.
At this point I felt I had woken up. It was dark, so I went to flick the light switch, but I had a hard time getting out of bed because of some arm that was trying to keep me pinned down. Eventually I bit it to get it to let me go, and tried to turn on the light. But it never came on. I got a little uneasy at this point, but tried thinking nothing of it, and tried to turn on my computer instead, ironically with the intent of writing down the previous dream. *laughs*
Though instead of switching on, it made a slight whir, then went silent again. This happened several times, until the screen finally lit up. It carried a warning saying I had too many desktops open at once, and that I should close some before progressing. I felt a bit weirded out by this, and still had that uneasy feeling, so I had a look around to see if anything bad was going to happen. I noticed that it was daylight, now, and that my room light was hanging closer to the ground than what it should be in real life. I could easily reach up and touch it without even having to stretch.
I 'woke up' again at this point, only now I was in some kind of spaceship, and there were people crawling around everywhere. Apparently the gravity was so strong on board that no-one could stand up. I didn't seem to have much of a problem, though, and easily walked toward the door at the end of the room I was in. On the other side was the roof of a building, and someone was sitting at the edge, painting a billboard for some brand of soup. I headed over to ask if he was worried about falling, when a flying object - I can't remember if it was a helicopter or not, but I THINK it was - appeared and someone inside started shouting at us. We ran back through the door that I'd initially come through.
Now there was a big pile-up of people and random objects, all trying to get away from something in the room that was controlling the gravity and pulling them toward it. I tried to help, but someone kept putting their hand over my face, so I couldn't see.
I finally woke up for real at this point.

Thoughts & observations:
Well that dream sure took a turn for the creepy. I wouldn't call it scary enough to be a nightmare, though.
( but thanks for trying, subconscious. I'm sure you were just trying to wish me a happy new year... *cough* )
I used to have a lot of random, NiGHTS-related dreams years ago. Doesn't happen so much, now, but it's nice to see that they're still pretty funny and stupid. I kind of want to draw Claris beating up some smoke monsters, now. XD
Lamest case of false awakenings, ever. I don't even know if I should count the second one as a proper false awakening at all.
Oh, well. Happy New Year to anyone who actually happens to read this. Hope you have many crazy dreams in 2011. :D
