Welcome

Since you seem to have stumbled onto this page, I shall offer a brief description of this blog's purpose:

Which is to record my dreams, for the purpose of training dream recall, and just plain laughing at the stupidity that is my subconscious. :)

I also apologise in advance for any and all affronts to the English language that results from typing with a brain that woke up 5 minutes ago...

Fairy Clock of Death

Original date: 3rd Jan, 2017.
Taken from Physical Dream Journal.

---

In this dream, I recall initially trying to hide a plastic bag full of bottles of booze from someone referred to in the notebook only as "Scary Neighbour", who was naturally chasing me to get their drink back. If it WAS their drink, I'm not sure, hah.

Anyway, I ran round the corner to my friend GC's place and rapped on the door, hoping that he or someone else in the house would hear and answer before Scary Neighbour found me. Eventually the door opened and I rather rudely shoved my way inside, offering a brief description of what was happening. GC showed me into the first room, rolling back the carpet and showing a small trapdoor sitting just infront of where the radiator sat. It was a pretty old fashioned looking trapdoor; wooden plank door with a large, iron ring for a handle. He opened it and slid a ladder down to let me climb in and hide.

Below, everything was almost pitch black, with only the light from above allowing me to see immediate surroundings, The walls were made of rough, red brickwork, and it appeared that the area below the house comprised of narrow corridors. On the walls were shelves of random things; toys, clothes, kitchen impliments, etc.

Suddenly the front door was being banged and I could hear Scary Neighbour screaming and threatening violence on the other side, and GC closed the trapdoor, telling me to be quiet whilst he tried to take control of the situation above. As the door closed, the area plunged into absolute darkness, and I found myself fumbling around in the dark, trying to find something to make some light with. I found a small torch, probably from the shelves, and turned it on, but the light it produced was dim and offered next to no visual aid.

In a bout of forgetting the situation at hand, I called up to get GC to open the door again, as the darkness was frankly getting more than a bit disturbing. Naturally, Scary Neighbour heard me and started shoving around up there to try and get to me,

Next, both GC and I are running through the maze like corridors below the house, with Scary Neighbour in tow. I don't know how long we ran about like that, before we reached a sudden opening, allowing bright light into the area. Naturally we head toward it, and come to a sort of veranda, overlooking a somewhat idyllic scene below.

The sky was bright and blue, with thin clouds drifting past. Below that was a wide river, fenced off on either side. The side closest to us had a dusty footpath, and some benches lined up to allow viewing both the river and the scenery on the other side, which comprised of much greenery; trees and such, as well as a ridiculously huge looking building. It was made of what looked like white marble, gleaming almost painfully in the bright surroundings. In the centre was a large, golden tower with a distinct pattern. At the top there was an oval, black decal with a simple, white, woman's head in profile in the centre. It looked something like a stretched penny. Below that was a simple, albeit large, analogue clock. Its face was white, with some simple black lines denoting the cardinal points. Below that, the pattern repeated, but in reverse, like a reflextion. Both the clock and the 'stretched penny' were upside down.

The times on both clocks were different, and dream logic told me that this was the "Fairy Clock". Each of the clock faces had a meaning:
Top clock: This is the exact time you were born
Bottom clock: This is the exact time you will die.
There were nothing indicating dates, worryingly.

I had a strong feeling that I had seen this odd building before, in a previous dream ( though I have no actual recollection of this, but who knows! Also aparently I was lucid for this brief moment ), and that it was a malevolent entity.

I tried the old dream trick of closing my eyes briefly to see how things changed, but oddly, the clock faces remained exactly the same. I tried a few more times but had the same results.

GC then suggested that we should flee because he too was getting disturbed by the building.

Turning back, the tunnels were now gone and replaced by a very wide road that was empty of traffic, but OF COURSE as soon as I started to cross it, I felt something ( I blamed the clock in the dream ) cause my legs to become like lead and an army of trucks started thundering my way.

GC managed to deflect them in some way that I forget, now, but the scene repeated itself several times, before I eventually just woke up.

Thoughts and Observations

Death Clocks. Pff. It's like my brain travelled back 10 years to when things like that were popular on the internet.
I did an absolutely terrible job describing what it looked like, here. I'll have to edit in a doodle of it at some point.
Seems about right to start updating this place again with a light nightmare. Go brain.

Actually, whilst I'm on that subject; Brain, what the hell? Stealing someone's booze? Just... why was that even a thing. No wonder the neighbour was fuming. XD
